Job summary

USPI seeks a Regional Director of Operations to oversee a portfolio of ambulatory surgical centers, driving P&L results, service levels, quality and compliance. You will lead multiple administrators, craft business plans, and engage physicians to spur growth and efficiency across centers.

You will champion strategic initiatives, monitor KPIs, and report progress to Governing Boards while partnering with corporate resources to advance USPI's goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in health professions, business administration, public administration or other suitable field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum ten years' experience with exposure to healthcare business development & operations, finance, and business consulting
• Demonstrated success with people management skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and formal presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work well with "C" level healthcare partners, physicians, employees, patients, and fellow workers.
• Excel & PowerPoint analytical and presentation skill a must
• Ability to articulate financial results and respond to questions from hospital and physician partners.
• Strong mathematical aptitude to assist with budgeting, reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational, financial, and growth strategies for ambulatory surgery centers and align with organizational goals.
• Develop and implement annual business plans for each center with quarterly board updates.
• Identify growth and efficiency opportunities to improve portfolio performance.
• Engage physicians and office leaders to maintain open communication and collaboration.
• Lead administrators responsible for day-to-day operations; provide coaching and development.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, labor productivity, supply management, and EBITDA performance across centers.
• Drive center growth by supporting surgeon engagement and service line development.
• Monitor KPIs, escalate risks, and implement action plans to improve performance and compliance.
• Cultivate partnerships with physicians and medical staff; attend Governing Boards; uphold governance standards.
• Maintain regular communication with corporate leadership and stakeholders.
