Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks a Regional Hotel/Resort Engineer to oversee the aesthetic condition and quality of hotel spaces aboard our ships. You will travel to vessels during the season to inspect, evaluate, and repair areas in line with guest expectations and brand standards.

Reporting to the Director of Hotel Standards, you will lead hotel maintenance and refurbishment efforts regionally, coordinate with Hotel Operations, and supervise technicians and contracted crews to ensure timely,

Qualifications

  • Hospitality experience maintaining hotel spaces on ships or in hotels.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, building systems and construction principles.
  • Valid driver’s license and English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal software.
  • US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preventative hotel maintenance for regional ships to minimize downtime.
  • Supervise, schedule, evaluate, and develop maintenance and refurbishment staff.
  • Prepare ship visit reports noting deficiencies and actions taken or planned.
  • Manage contractors to ensure work meets terms and quality standards.
  • Work with the Director of Hotel Standards on off-season refurbishment plans.
  • Inspect all hotel furniture, fixtures and equipment to maintain brand quality.
  • Coordinate with onboard teams on maintenance and refurbishment tasks.
  • Establish timelines for moving in furniture and replacements.
  • Facilitate communication between contractors, crew, and management.
  • Perform final inspections before ships go back to service.
