Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) focused on Respiratory/COPD. You will build relationships with scientific leaders, deliver company-approved medical information, and guide peer discussions in a rapidly evolving therapeutic area.

The role requires COPD/Respiratory expertise, doctoral-level discussion skills, and a strong grasp of regulatory ethics. Travel up to 50% within the Chicago region and surrounding states is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO or MD required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in COPD/Respiratory beyond terminal degree.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and pharma ethics.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with national/regional Scientific Leaders and share company-approved medical information.
• Conduct peer-to-peer discussions; answer scientific questions and route out-of-scope requests (e.g., grants).
• Maintain expert COPD/respiratory knowledge and stay current on research.
• Support investigator- and company-sponsored discussions; identify enrollment barriers and explain foundations.
• Recommend sites/investigators for phase II–IV; conduct Site Initiation Visits and address investigator questions.
• Support scientific congresses/meetings and facilitate data exchange.
• Gather scientific/medical feedback during routine activities.
