Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Credentialed Director-level clinician to lead medical affairs in COPD. You will manage scientific discussions, support investigator-initiated research, and collaborate with Global Clinical Trial Operations to optimize site selection and study execution.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years COPD experience beyond the terminal degree, strong regulatory knowledge, and extensive stakeholder networks. Travel up to 50% in the Chicago region.

Qualifications

• Director-level clinician/scientist required: PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.
• 3+ years COPD/Respiratory experience beyond terminal degree.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and networking.
• Strong understanding of FDA/OIG/HIPAA and pharma regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with virtual meetings.
• Preferred: COPD/Respiratory field-based medical experience and publications.

Responsibilities

• Engage Scientific Leaders and build relationships to share medical information.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions and route external inquiries appropriately.
• Maintain current knowledge of the COPD therapeutic/clinical environment.
• Support investigator-sponsored research discussions and enrollment/retention insights.
• Recommend sites/investigators for trials and serve as protocol lead with GT ops.
• Support medical congresses and exchange company/competitor data.
• Gather insights to inform medical/scientific needs and priorities.
