Job summary

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager 1 to lead safety initiatives across large-scale commercial projects.

You will report to the Safety Director and collaborate with the Safety Department to ensure compliance with industry, local, state, and federal guidelines. Responsibilities include conducting safety meetings, developing environmental health programs, guiding project teams, and creating site-specific safety plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 6-8 years of large-scale commercial or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years of management-level safety experience.
• Experience developing Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Plans for construction sites.
• OSHA 500 preferred; OSHA 510 required.
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, and 30-hour Construction Safety are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of safety for the designated region, including direct reports.
• Provides project management teams with guidance on health and safety and confirms site compliance with guidelines and regulations.
• Provides technical support to project managers and coordinates schedules, invoices, and submittals.
• Maintains written logs of safety inspections, reports, and correspondence; oversees accident reporting and investigations.
• Develops site-specific safety plans tailored to project needs and ensures subcontractor adherence.
