Job summary

Fessler & Bowman Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager 1 to lead safety initiatives across major projects. You will report to the Safety Director and support project teams in meeting industry, local, state, and federal guidelines.

The role emphasizes site assessments, training, and proactive safety culture development. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in safety-related fields and 6–8 years' large-scale project management experience, including safety leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 6-8 years of large-scale commercial or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years in a safety leadership role.
  • Experience developing Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Plans for construction sites.
  • OSHA 500/510 construction standards preferred/required.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, and 30-hour Construction Safety are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all safety for the designated region, including direct reports.
  • Provides guidance on health and safety to project teams and ensures site compliance.
  • Provides technical support to project managers on safety issues.
  • Coordinates schedules, invoices, and submittals related to safety programs.
  • Maintains logs of safety inspections, reports, and correspondence.
  • Develops site-specific safety plans tailored to project needs.
