Job summary

King's Insurance Staffing represents an established Property & Casualty insurer seeking an experienced Commercial P&C Underwriting Manager to lead the Mid-Atlantic team, drive profitable growth, uphold underwriting quality, and strengthen agency relationships across the region.

This role offers location flexibility within the Mid-Atlantic, with preference for Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or South Carolina.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Commercial Lines underwriting experience.
• Underwriting management/leadership experience.
• Experience with Commercial Property, Casualty, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Strong knowledge of independent agency distribution models.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of commercial underwriting professionals.
• Provide technical guidance on complex Commercial P&C accounts.
• Oversee underwriting quality, risk selection, pricing, and portfolio performance.
• Partner with underwriting staff to achieve profitable growth and production objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with independent agency partners.
• Work with senior leadership on regional underwriting strategy and business initiatives.
• Monitor market conditions and identify growth opportunities.
