Job summary
The State of North Carolina, Department of Health and Human Services, seeks a Community Development Specialist II (NS) for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing division in Wilson. You will manage the Wilson Regional Center serving Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind individuals across 17 counties, guiding staff and program delivery to meet division goals.
Key responsibilities include supervising seven staff, representing the division publicly, and coordinating services with the administrative office
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience as described.
- In-depth knowledge of deafness and hearing loss as related to program delivery.
- Experience in supervision and performance management.
- Ability to analyze data and develop program goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Wilson Regional Center and staff of seven specialists and assistant.
- Represent the Division in community functions and coordinate outreach.
- Direct supervision of staff and some direct services to consumers.
- Liaise between regional center and administrative office and ensure DHHS policy adherence.
- Oversee facility operations and staff coordination according to DHHS procedures.
