Job summary

American Driver is seeking drivers for short hauls with steady home time. Most trips on this dry van account are two days or less within 11 western states, with two-week home cycles and day/night dispatch. Trainee pay starts at $850 per week during training, followed by full solo mileage rates after training.

New CDL-A holders are welcome, or 6+ months of verifiable solo experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical card, 21 years or older.
• Clean MVR and background check.
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate dry van trailers on a primarily west-coast route.
• Maintain steady home time with runs every two weeks.
• Meet or exceed mileage and safety standards per company policy.

• Trainee pay of $850 per week during training
• Paid one-on-one OTR training with an experienced mentor
• Immediate upgrade to full solo mileage rate once training is complete
• Minimum of 120 hours from an accredited CDL school required to start

Route & Freight

• Dry van trailers, 100% no touch freight
• 70% drop and hook, 30% live load/unload
• Covers AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, and WY
• Option to run beyond the 11 western states for more miles
• 1,700 to 2,100 miles weekly

Pay

• Line haul pay scale, average weekly earnings of $1,200 to $1,500 depending on experience
• Top 25% of drivers clear $1,700 weekly
• $1,000 guaranteed pay for your first 3 months after your first solo dispatch
• Bonus up to $0.06 per mile for qualified drivers
• $15 stop pay
• $20 assist/pallet jack/tailgate pay, $80 for a full hand unload

Home Time & Schedule

• Home every two weeks
• Day and night dispatch
• Weekend work expected, some holidays off possible with your driver leader
• Some winter driving involved
