Job summary

AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a Cargo Claim Prevention Manager to implement methods and standards to reduce cargo loss and damage and OS&D in the designated region.

The role partners with executives and service centers, trains staff on loading practices and bill control, and analyzes trends to cut costs while improving service quality.

Travel as needed; associate's degree preferred; strong MS Office skills and OS&D experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Transportation, Logistics or related area of study.
• Operations management/supervisory experience.
• Preferably OS&D and/or claims prevention experience in transportation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software and OS&D computer related programs.
• Familiarity with basic cargo claims liability.

Responsibilities

• Support region OS&D and claims prevention policies and procedures.
• Guide and train service center personnel on loading and freight handling techniques.
• Guide and train service center personnel on bill control functions to reduce exposure to lost freight claims.
• Identify trends in OS&D activities to help service centers improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Interact with shippers and consignees to reduce or eliminate claims.
• Work with executives to identify root causes of OS&D and assist with corrective plans.
• Investigate high-value, technical, and complicated claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department General Manager.
