Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience at a journalism or media company.
• 5+ years reporting from a region for a national/global audience.
• Strong writing skills and ethical news judgment.
• Portfolio includes politics, news, enterprise and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Drive regional coverage plans and oversee ongoing reporting in your zone.
• Mentor editors and reporters; cultivate a deep source network.
• Coordinate with editors across desks; shape enterprise and accountability pieces.
• Represent The New York Times to the region; lead collaboration and leadership among peers.
• Report to an editor on the National Desk; manage deadlines and stories on deadline.
