Job summary

Young Adult Institute, Inc. seeks a Supervisor to oversee Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS) in a Queens-based region. The role provides clinical leadership, oversees assessments, and ensures delivery of person-centered interventions and data-driven plans.

You will supervise BIS staff, guide program implementation, and coordinate training and performance evaluations across sites. A master’s degree with BCBA or NY licensure, plus 3+ years of I/DD experience, is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology or applied psychology as it relates to human development and clinical interventions.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a related master’s degree or equivalent education as approved by OPWDD.
• Current license/registration in Mental Health Counseling (NYSED) or equivalent.
• Three+ years of direct experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavior support planning.
• Completion of BIS School within one year of appointment, if not already completed.
• Ability to travel to programs across the region and work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of BIS staff for an assigned region.
• Conduct observations and evaluations of staff performance and ensure adherence to behavior support plans.
• Lead training and development sessions for BIS and program staff.
• Coordinate assessments (FBAs) and updates to behavior support plans.
• Oversee timekeeping, staffing, and Workday payroll-related processes.
• Attend regional leadership meetings and collaborate with program leadership.
