Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking a Regional Recruiter to lead undergraduate recruitment efforts in the assigned region. The role focuses on representing VCU at high schools, community colleges, and college fairs, delivering outreach and admissions counseling to prospective freshmen and transfers.

You will travel extensively, work from a home office, and participate in events on the Richmond campus. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education.
• At least a year of recruitment or admissions experience.
• Resides in assigned area and can travel frequently.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, school counselors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Unexpired Driver’s License, personal vehicle, and active car insurance.
• Ability to obtain and manage a VCU travel card.
• Commitment to respect and civility across diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Represent VCU at recruitment activities, including virtual events, to prospective students and families.
• Plan and organize recruitment activities to meet enrollment goals.
• Coordinate local receptions and yield events for accepted students.
• Participate in on-campus recruitment events.
• Counsel prospective students and families on admissibility and success at VCU.
• Manage recruitment correspondence and follow-up with applicants.
• Participate in application evaluation and scholarship review.
• Collaborate with regional offices and alumni to support recruitment.
