Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Area Accounting Manager to lead accounting functions for multiple offices in a defined region, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.

You will work with Area Operations Manager, Department Managers and the Regional Controller to monitor general ledger accounts, budgets, invoicing and receivables across projects. The role requires a minimum of five years of accounting experience, a degree in accounting, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; advanced degree may offset years of experience
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for accounting functions for multiple offices in a specified region
• Establish internal controls for procedures and practices in accordance with company policies and contractual obligations
• Coordinate with Area Operations Manager, Department Managers and Regional Controller to manage general ledger, budgets, invoicing, payables, receivables and related financial information
• Audit compliance with contractual requirements, including invoicing and reporting format, net fee projections and financial quality control
• Review and analyze financial statements
• Coordinate and review annual departmental budgets
• Advise management on financial performance of departments and projects
• Supervise activity of department accountants for timekeeping, expense reports and project coding
• Make staffing recommendations to management
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, receivables and project reporting
