Job summary

HDR is seeking an Area Accounting Manager to lead accounting functions for multiple offices in a defined region, ensuring internal controls and alignment with contract obligations. You will work with Area Operations Manager, department managers and the Regional Controller to monitor ledgers, budgets, invoicing, payables, and receivables.

You will audit compliance, review financial statements, coordinate annual departmental budgets, and advise management on financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills.
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for accounting functions for multiple offices in a specified region.
• Establish internal controls for procedures and practices in accordance with policies and obligations.
• Coordinate department and project accounting systems to monitor ledgers, budgets, invoicing, payables and receivables.
• Audit compliance with contractual requirements, including invoicing and reporting formats and financial quality control.
• Review and analyze financial statements and coordinate annual departmental budgets.
• Advise management on financial performance and supervise staff accounting activities.
• Communicate with clients regarding invoicing, receivables and project reporting as needed.
