Job summary

RETTEW is seeking a Regional Director to lead a large Planning & Design team across Region 1, driving Land Development, Municipal, Survey/GIS, and Transportation services in southeastern PA. The role emphasizes technical leadership, business development, and strong people management to grow the region and serve clients effectively.

Reporting to the VP of Planning & Design, you will shape regional priorities, oversee budgets and performance, and build leadership across offices while traveling

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Land Development, Municipal, Survey/GIS or Transportation with leadership responsibility.
• Proven leadership of managers and multidisciplinary teams with coaching and succession development.
• Strong business development experience with senior client relationships and growth.
• Technical credibility across Planning & Design disciplines and broad leadership ability.
• Accountability for budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and financial performance.
• Professional registration or certification relevant to the discipline.
• Knowledge of southeastern Pennsylvania markets and willingness to travel regionally.
• Ability to work from Berwyn, Lancaster, or Lehigh Valley and travel Region 1.

Responsibilities

• Lead the regional Planning & Design business and align teams around priorities and client service.
• Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports; set expectations and provide feedback.
• Maintain engagement across the region and remove barriers to growth.
• Develop regional growth and business-development plans and strengthen client relationships.
• Guide regional offices on staffing, investments, and service delivery to ensure quality.
• Own regional financial and operational performance including budgets and backlog.
• Foster collaboration across teams and offices to present a unified client experience.
• Provide technical and project leadership on high-profile assignments with risk management.
• Build workforce plans and leadership development for the next generation of leaders.
• Model RETTEW’s values through transparent decisions and respectful leadership.
