Qualifications

• Experience on diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, or automotive technician roles preferred.
• Experience working on refuse trucks or specialized equipment is a plus.
• Strong diagnostics and repair skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair refuse trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive service.
• Repair and maintain diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, and other components.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose and repair refuse truck equipment including lifting mechanisms and compactors.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with service team to ensure vehicles are ready for operation.

We are actively hiring a Refuse Truck Technician at our Young Truck and Trailer location in Kaysville, Utah! If you have experience working on heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, or refuse vehicles, this is a great opportunity to join a high-performing service team!

In this role, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain refuse trucks and their specialized equipment. You’ll help keep vehicles operating safely and reliably by performing maintenance and repairs on truck systems, hydraulic components, and refuse collection equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair refuse trucks and heavy-duty vehicles

Qualifications:

• Previous diesel, heavy-duty truck, or automotive technician experience preferred
• Experience working on refuse trucks or specialized truck equipment is a plus
• Knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and mechanical components
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems preferred
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and shop equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
