Young Automotive Group is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Truck Technicians for our Logan dealership. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 6-8 trucks and trailers to dealer standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy duty truck technician
• ASE certifications (T-series) or manufacturer-specific certifications preferred
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willing to obtain
• Working knowledge of diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, air brake and drivetrain systems

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy duty trucks and trailers, including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brake systems, electrical systems, and HVAC
• Complete DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet all applicable regulations
• Read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic software to identify root causes
• Document all work performed on repair orders with labor, parts, and findings
• Road test vehicles to verify repair quality and performance
• Maintain a clean, safe work area adhering to safety standards
• Communicate repair status and additional needed repairs to service advisors
• Maintain and properly use shop tools and diagnostic equipment
• Stay current on manufacturer training and certifications
• Provide input on estimated repair times and assist with additional opportunities
• Mentor and assist junior technicians or apprentices as needed

• Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic software to identify root causes of mechanical issues
• Accurately document all work performed, including labor time, parts used, and diagnostic findings, on repair orders
• Road test vehicles to confirm proper repair and performance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards
• Communicate clearly with service advisors and shop foreman regarding repair status, additional needed repairs, and parts requirements
• Maintain and properly use all shop tools and diagnostic equipment
• Stay current on manufacturer training, technical bulletins, and certification requirements
• Provide input on estimated repair times and assist in identifying additional repair opportunities
• Mentor and assist junior technicians or apprentices as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in diesel or heavy duty truck repair preferred
• 2+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy duty truck technician (entry-level candidates with relevant training may be considered)
• ASE certifications (T-series) or manufacturer-specific certifications preferred
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtainWorking knowledge of engine, electrical, hydraulic, air brake, and drivetrain systems on Class 6-8 vehicles
• Experience with diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit DDDL, Allison DOC, or similar) a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently under flat-rate or production pay structures
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check
