Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Environmental Technician I in Richmond, VA to support processing, testing, tracking, and secure handling of electronic assets within a warehouse. You will manage inventory, record asset details, and ensure data security and chain of custody.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, labeling, loading/unloading, and travel to client sites as needed. Basic computer skills and ability to use hand tools are required; forklift experience is a plus. Hourly rate: $17–$18.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to identify common computer components such as processors, RAM, HDDs, SSDs, power supplies and expansion cards.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Willingness to travel to customer projects.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming electronic equipment.
• Create detailed asset reports by recording manufacturer, model, serial number, and other required information.
• Identify computer components, including processors, RAM, hard drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD), and other hardware.
• Remove HDDs and SSDs from desktops, laptops, servers, and other devices.
• Operate hard drive and SSD shredding equipment per company procedures.
• Test computers, laptops, mobile devices to determine functionality and resale potential.
• Use hand and power tools to safely disassemble electronic equipment.
• Label equipment, pallets, containers, and orders to maintain inventory and chain of custody.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Ensure equipment containing sensitive data is handled securely and per policies.
• Assist with loading, unloading, sorting, and staging electronics in the warehouse.
• Travel to customer locations for on-site asset processing projects.
