Job summary

Veolia in Richmond, VA is seeking an Environmental Technician I to support processing, testing, and secure handling of electronic assets in a warehouse setting. You will maintain inventory records, verify component details, and ensure data security throughout the destruction lifecycle while collaborating with a team and traveling to customer sites as needed.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift and move equipment as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to identify common computer components such as processors, RAM, HDDs/SSDs.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate asset recording.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming electronic equipment.
• Create detailed asset reports recording manufacturer, model, serial number, and other info.
• Identify components such as processors, RAM, HDDs/SSDs and other hardware.
• Remove HDDs and SSDs from devices.
• Operate shredding equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Test computers and devices to determine functionality and resale potential.
• Use hand and power tools to safely disassemble equipment.
• Label equipment, pallets, containers, and orders to maintain inventory and chain of custody.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Ensure all equipment containing sensitive data is handled securely.
• Assist with loading, unloading, sorting, and staging equipment in the warehouse.
• Travel to customer locations for on-site asset processing.
