Job summary

Global Refuge is seeking a Case Manager and Employment Specialist to deliver client-centered, trauma-informed case management and employment services to newly arriving refugees and ORR-eligible populations in the United States. You will work with clients to assess needs, enroll in programs, and build pathways to self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or behavioral/human services preferred or two years of experience in case management/social services.
• Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or limited English speakers is highly preferred.
• Fluency in one of the languages commonly used by client populations is preferred (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, French, Swahili, Lingala).
• Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate client-centered, trauma-informed support.
• Screen and enroll eligible families and individuals into appropriate programs.
• Create a service plan with the client to address needs and achieve self-sufficiency.
• Review and update service plans regularly throughout the program period.
• Provide housing, school enrollment, healthcare, social services referrals, benefits enrollment, and employment services as applicable.
• Provide employment services including job readiness training, resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement.
• Deliver Intensive Case Management services to especially vulnerable individuals when applicable.
• Maintain regular contact with clients and conduct home visits as required.
• Develop relationships with potential employers and conduct outreach to promote employment opportunities.
