Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) seeks a Resettlement Caseworker to support refugee resettlement in the Des Moines area, delivering client-centered case management and employment services. The role coordinates with volunteers, partners, employers, and funders to meet client needs within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in health and human services with 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination (Associates + 3 years, or HS diploma/GED + 5 years).
• Qualified experience spans human services, family services, mental health, public health, nursing, resource navigation, behavioral health, immigration/refugee work, and employment/workforce development.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with housing, employment, schooling, healthcare, transportation, and other resettlement needs.
• Conduct assessments and create individualized plans to support client self-sufficiency.
• Provide ongoing case management, advocacy, and referrals to community resources.
• Support Matching Grant participants through employment-focused case management and job placement.
• Assist with job readiness, retention, budgeting, and financial literacy.
• Transport clients to appointments and essential services as needed.
• Maintain accurate case records and program documentation per guidelines.
• Ensure services align with program guidelines and timelines.
