Job summary

Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh seeks a Social Services Caseworker to support refugees and immigrants as they settle in the region. You will provide comprehensive case management, connect clients with healthcare, housing, employment, and benefits, and promote self-sufficiency.

The role includes group activities support, collaboration with interpreters and volunteers, and occasional evening/weekend programming to meet community needs.

Qualifications

• Experience serving refugees and immigrants in the US or abroad preferred.
• Excellent English (spoken and written).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive client assessments to enroll in case management and refugee employment programs.
• Develop individualized short- and long-term case management plans focused on self-sufficiency.
• Provide referrals and coordinate services with partner agencies, county providers, schools, healthcare systems, and government entities.
• Travel across Allegheny County and nearby counties to meet clients in person.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and client progress in electronic and paper files.
• Support and guide volunteers, mentors, and interns involved in program activities.
