Job summary

Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh is seeking a Social Services Caseworker to join the Refugee & Immigrant Services team. The role focuses on comprehensive case management to help clients access healthcare, benefits, housing, education, and employment opportunities within Allegheny County and surrounding areas.

You will work collaboratively with interpreters, volunteers, and partners, conducting home visits and organizing group activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience providing services to refugees and immigrants in the United States or overseas.
• Strong English language skills, written and spoken.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse communities.
• Willingness to travel within the region.
• Flexibility in hours and scheduling.
• Access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to enroll in case management and refugee employment programs.
• Develop individualized short- and long-term case management plans to promote self-sufficiency.
• Coordinate referrals with partner agencies, schools, healthcare systems, and government entities.
• Assist clients with renewing benefits and accessing subsidized housing, medical appointments, and transportation options.
• Conduct home visits and advocate for client resources.
• Collaborate with interpreters, volunteers, mentors, and interns to support client needs.
• Travel across Allegheny County and nearby counties to meet clients in person.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and client progress in electronic and paper files.
• Participate in professional development and staff trainings.
