Job summary

Lutheran Services Carolinas in Raleigh, NC is seeking a full-time Refugee Case Manager to support refugee and immigrant services across North and South Carolina. The role involves assessing barriers to self-sufficiency, coordinating with external providers, and assisting with housing, transportation, and access to benefits.

Responsibilities include trauma-informed, confidential case management, documenting services per HIPAA guidelines, and collaborating with the team to create effective care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with human services experience preferred or two years’ equivalent education and experience in the human services field.
• Multilingual skills preferred; cross-cultural experience or work with displaced people preferred.
• Knowledge of local community resources preferred.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional, confidential, trauma-informed case management services.
• Manage Refugee Services Program cases with timely delivery per ORR guidelines.
• Coordinate initial airport transportation for refugees through the Reception and Placement Program.
• Develop and document a budget for each case with expenditures and dates.
• Assist in securing housing and ensuring housing is fully furnished.
• Collaborate with teammates to overcome barriers to care for clients with significant medical conditions.
• Document and report information related to client services per HIPAA guidelines.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely services and documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, volunteers, partner agencies, and funders.
