Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the repair and servicing of refrigeration or air conditioning systems.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade.
• Equivalent combination of experience/training including one year of journey level work.

Responsibilities

• Teach refrigeration practices in classroom and work settings.
• Direct inmate work crews and inspect refrigeration tasks.
• Maintain records of inmate progress, attendance, and assignments.
• Issue and inventory tools and materials used in training and work assignments.
• Conduct searches to account for tools and materials.
• Determine needed materials and submit purchase requests when required.

Experience in refrigeration

Education

Five years of refrigeration/AC experience or apprenticeship

Approved refrigeration/apprenticeship program
