Job summary

TCI Maintenance in Phoenix is hiring a Refrigeration Technician I to maintain, diagnose, and repair truck and trailer refrigeration equipment. You’ll work with experienced techs to perform preventive maintenance and repairs, using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools.

A strong mechanical background and willingness to learn are required. This role emphasizes safe work practices, accurate record-keeping, and contributing to a team focused on keeping equipment moving forward in transportation

Qualifications

1–2 years of mechanical or refrigeration experience.
EPA Section 608 Certification REQUIRED.
Valid driver's license and insurability.
Experience using shop tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
Basic math skills and attention to detail.
Ability and willingness to work safely at heights.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair truck and trailer refrigeration units with supervision.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs to keep equipment running efficiently.
Assist with electrical systems, starters, alternators, sensors, ECMs, and ECUs.
Work on gas and diesel engines, cooling systems, and HVAC components.
Inspect refrigeration units, identify mechanical issues, and determine necessary repairs.
Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs.
Document repairs, identify warranty-related issues, and maintain accurate work orders.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
