Job summary

Bachoco USA is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for the Albertville Plant on the 1st shift (6:00a–2:30p). The role focuses on operating and maintaining the ammonia refrigeration system to protect product quality and plant safety.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with HAZMAT and boiler licensing requirements. Competitive wages plus benefits and growth opportunities at a leading multi-protein producer.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system.
• Repairs and maintains spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, air pressure, chilled water and plant temperatures.
• Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause.
• Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
• Monitors facility temperatures and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team.
• Must be able to attain and maintain a boiler license and complete document OSHA checks of internal boilers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary: Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system:

  • Listens for unusual sounds
  • Feels for unusual vibration
  • Communicates with users regarding what was observed or smelled
• Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
• Monitors facility temperatures and makes adjustments as necessary
• Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team
