Job summary

Bachoco Group in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for the 2nd shift (12:00 pm–9:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday) to operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system and related equipment in the Further Process area.

Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 systems, and monitoring temperatures; troubleshooting malfunctions, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting work.

• Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery to detect root cause.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts as part of Preventative Maintenance.
• Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team.
• Must be able to attain and maintain a boiler license and complete OSHA checks of internal boilers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Department: 1855 - Plant Two - Refrigeration

Shift Hours: 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm - Wednesday to Sunday

Pay Rate: $ 21 - $ 28.50 / based on assessment

Position Summary: Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system:

• Repairs and maintains spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, air pressure, chilledwater,and planttemperatures.
• Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause
  • Listens for unusual sounds
  • Feels for unusual vibration
  • Communicates with users regarding what was observed or smelled
• Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings,gears,and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
• Monitors facility temperatures andadjustsasnecessary.
• Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team
• Must be able to attain and maintain a boiler license and complete document OSHA checks of internal boilers
• Other duties as assigned
