Bachoco USA's Albertville Plant is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) in Albertville, Alabama.

You will operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system, including spiral freezers, boilers, compressors, CO2 systems, and temperature controls.

This safety-sensitive role requires the ability to obtain and maintain HAZMAT certification and a boiler license; competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration system.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery to identify root causes.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and monitor temps.
• Obtain and maintain HAZMAT certification for entry team.
• Maintain boiler license and complete OSHA checks on boilers.
• Safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and reassemble machinery; replace parts as needed.

Position Summary: Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system:

• Repairs and maintains spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, air pressure, chilled water and plant temperatures
• Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause
  • Listens for unusual sounds
  • Feels for unusual vibration
  • Communicates with users regarding what was observed or smelled
• Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
• Monitors facility temperatures and makes adjustments as necessary
• Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team
• Must be able to attain and maintain a boiler license and complete document OSHA checks of internal boilers
• Other duties as assigned
