Job summary

ColonialWebb Contractors Company in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Refrigeration Engineer to design and size industrial refrigeration systems for food distribution centers, cold storage and processing facilities. You will develop diagrams, plans and specs and perform heat-load calculations to ensure optimal performance.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, preferably with EIT/PE, and about 5 years in industrial refrigeration design. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering.
• EIT or PE exam completed (preferred).
• 5 years industrial refrigeration engineering and design experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, specifications, building materials, engineering standards and codes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to analyze complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Design refrigeration systems for food distribution centers, cold storage, and food processing facilities.
• Develop flow diagrams, plans and specifications for refrigeration systems.
• Perform heat load calculations to determine facility refrigeration requirements.
• Conduct heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis for sizing and selection of refrigeration equipment, piping, and control valves.
• Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to others in the development of construction layouts, documents and specifications for projects.
