Job summary

ColonialWebb in Columbus, GA, seeks an Industrial Refrigeration Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain ammonia refrigeration equipment, including evaporative condensers and large control systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial refrigeration systems such as ammonia, cascade and rack systems.
• EPA CFC certification and RETA I/II certifications required or in progress.
• Ability to read schematics and repair control systems safely.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose causes of refrigeration equipment breakdowns and repair as needed.
• Disassemble, inspect, and replace parts and perform preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinator to schedule inspections and fuel/material needs.
• Adhere to budget objectives while delivering reliable service.

A day in the life:

• Diagnose causes of Industrial Refrigeration equipment breakdowns
• Disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspection tasks as defined in each maintenance agreement maintaining adherence to budget objectives
• Obtain clearly defined directives from the Service Coordinator on the specific tasks to be performed; assist the coordinator in scheduling inspections based on location, man-hour requirements, priorities, customer coordination’s, and material pick-up

You should have:

• The availability to travel 50% of the time
• Industry experience in the Industrial Refrigeration fieldPrimary area of expertise is evaporative condensers, large control systems, complex conventional electrical controls, Industrial Refrigeration Systems including ammonia, cascade, and rack systems with the ability to rebuild commercial/industrial compressors
• Possess EPA approved CFC certification andRETA Course I and II certifications
• Possess knowledge of current International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration / Refrigeration Engineers and Technician Association and OSHA safety regulations
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule to include varying shifts, short notice assignments, emergencies, nights, weekends, and overtime(scheduled and unscheduled), as required
