Job description

Refrigerant Service Technician

The skill set and knowledge required for this role are heavily based on the applicant’s experience. Summit Refrigerants primarily works in light to heavy commercial and industrial applications of various refrigerants, with quantities ranging from 100 pounds to over 100,000 pounds. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform tasks independently after appropriate training, with competence and attention to detail. Excellent written communication and on-site management skills are essential. This role reports to the Technical Director.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform refrigerant recoveries, dehydrations, system flushes, and document daily progress.
  • Operate equipment safely in the field, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Willingness to accept training and constructive criticism to develop skills over time.
  • Travel is required, including overnight and extended projects up to two weeks.
  • Complete training and maintain a clean driving record for Class C to A CDL with HAZ-Mat endorsement.
  • Manage company credit card expenses and submit expense reports promptly.
  • Interact professionally with customers.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.

  • Proven experience in HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Formal HVAC education with transcript requested.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration theory.
  • Professional personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Proficiency with industry hand tools.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and availability for after-hours work.

  • Experience working in mechanical rooms and outdoor environments.
Additional Requirements
