Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Quincy, MA seeks a Refinery Technician to operate and monitor a computerized control system across multiple refinery units, ensuring safe production of fatty acids to customer specifications. The role involves starting up processes, adjusting valves, and documenting production data.

You will perform routine safety inspections, conduct laboratory tests, enter results into SAP, and assist maintenance and engineering teams on site. A rotating 12-hour shift schedule is required.

Responsibilities

• Start up the process turning valves, moving handles, observing display screens and bringing product into proper specification.
• Use computerized control systems and manual valves to control process and production.
• Enter laboratory test results and document observations on Quality Window.
• Perform an emergency equipment shutdown and know when it is necessary.
• Perform regular routine safety inspections and report hazards to management.
• Perform cleanup of assigned area using tools.
• Enter production data and end of shift information into SAP.
• Perform visual/physical on-site machinery and/or equipment inspection twice a shift.
• Report defects to maintenance/shift leader and enter work orders.
• Draw product samples and conduct laboratory tests for chemical properties; run tests on Gas Chromatographs.
• Conduct shift turnover with the relief operator in the control room.
• Participate in maintenance activities during shutdown and repairs.
• Support and participate in Maintenance and Engineering teams problems.
• Perform Lockout Tag Out and isolation of systems as required.
• Support and assist in training of other employees as requested.
• Support Company principles of Safety, Compliance, Quality, Cost and KPI's.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.
