Job summary

Entertimeonline seeks a Referral Specialist to maintain referral tracking and documentation, connect with offices to request notes, and reach out to patients to reschedule appointments. You will review referrals and coordinate with specialists and imaging facilities to ensure timely reports.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2 years in a medical office, and ESRH experience; bilingual interpretation is a plus and Interpreter certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Referral Specialist with ESRH required.
• Certification as an Interpreter is preferred and ability to provide bilingual patient care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review open referrals and search for related reports that may already be in the patients’ medical records.
• Address referral if report is found.
• Communicate with specialists/ imaging facilities to determine patient compliance with attending appointment.
• Document compliance in notes tab of the referral.
• Request consultations/ imaging reports for appointments attended.
• Continue to communicate with specialist/ imaging facilities as needed until all reports are received.
• Address referral once the report is received.
• Inform Referral Coordinator of issues related to communications with specialist/imaging facilities.
• Communicate with patients who did not attend scheduled appointment to determine if referral is still warranted and direct the patient to reschedule if still needed.
• Follow the Referral Initiation, Scheduling and Tracking Procedure (C PRO 80) for addressing referrals that are no longer wanted or if unable to reach patient.
• Assume the duties of a Referral Specialist when needed.
• Other duties and tasks as directed by the Referral Coordinator.
• If qualified, perform interpretation/translation services for ESRHS centers.
