AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Specialist I, Referrals to manage referral requests from diverse sources and ensure timely processing in line with federal, state, and Health Plan requirements.

The role focuses on timely authorizations, notifications, and other referral management duties, within a collaborative care environment that values accuracy, compliance and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Medical Assistant Certificate or Medical Billing Certificate preferred.
• At least 1 year in a medical billing environment with Medi-Cal/ CCS knowledge.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process referral requests and ensure turnaround times meet requirements.
• Facilitate authorizations and notifications; perform other referral management tasks.
• Collaborate with team to ensure compliant and timely referrals.

Job Overview

The Specialist I, Referrals, is responsible for processing referral requests from various sources to ensure compliance with federal, state, or Health Plan-specific turnaround time requirements. The Specialist is accountable for facilitating timely authorizations and notifications, as well as other referral management functions.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma required. Medical Assistant Certificate or Medical Billing Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a medical billing environment (IPA or HMO preferred), with pre-authorizations and reimbursement regulations about Medi-Cal, CCS, and other government programs required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Compensation

$25.00 - $29.32 hourly
