Job summary

QuarterLine at Luke AFB is seeking a Referral Management Center Specialist to support the healthcare team. You will provide professional customer service to patients and staff, assist with referral and appointment coordination, and ensure referrals are completed in a timely manner.

The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced military health environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of administrative experience in a medical office/healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with electronic health records.
• Ability to read/write/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
• Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
