Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Referral Coordinator to support Oregon/Washington referrals, ensuring compliant pre-authorization and accurate documentation. You will manage referrals end-to-end, liaise with insurers and providers, and produce reporting on workflow volume.

The role emphasizes data synthesis, problem solving, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders. EPIC experience is preferred; candidates must reside in OR or WA and complete an online application.

Qualifications

• Education/training equivalent to an associate's degree.
• 1–4 years of relevant experience performing referral coordination and related duties.
• Must pass a reference check.
• Must reside in Oregon or Washington.
• EPIC experience is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience synthesizing data and solving problems.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience working with diverse groups and navigating policies.

Responsibilities

• Determine reimbursement sources and navigate specialty-care pre-authorization protocols.
• Complete, document, and track referrals according to criteria.
• Liaise with Primary Care Access and Referral for self-pay referrals.
• Coordinate with the Oregon Health Plan Eligibility Specialist to assess coverage.
• Track and close referrals, provide weekly updates on high-risk referrals.
• Advise providers on difficult referral situations.
• Coordinate among clients, providers, and insurance providers.
• Assist the public by phone or in person with referral questions.
• Research and resolve service-access and reimbursement issues.
• Provide clinical operations support with paper flow, faxing, and reports.
• Create Reporting Workbench reports on classifications, productivity, and volume.
• Maintain electronic documents for distribution and publication.
• Collaborate with Clinical Information Systems to ensure patient-record accuracy.
• Review quality and compliance issues for referrals.
• Review project/program effectiveness and contracted services.
• Maintain information-material inventories and participate in trainings.
• Participate in and lead meetings and training seminars on referrals and onboarding.
