Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Referral Coordinator to support clinical referrals within a US healthcare environment. You will manage referrals, verify insurance, and coordinate with hospitals, plans, physicians, patients, and vendors to ensure complete documentation and timely processing.

You will handle multiple channels, document communications, and maintain accurate records while maintaining empathy and effective problem-solving throughout the workflow.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work 9 AM to 5:30 PM Central time, Monday through Friday.
• Ability to work from the office as necessary.
• Ability to travel to the worksite and other locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the clinical team with administrative components of clinical referrals.
• Initiate and manage clinical referrals for participants in disease management or health programs.
• Facilitate referrals for home health, nutritional counseling, and related services.
• Act as liaison between hospitals, health plans, physicians, patients, vendors, and referral sources.
• Review referrals for completeness and follow up for additional information.
• Assign referrals to staff.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations from insurance plans.
• Maintain an insurance-company database containing coverage verification, accepted plans, and patient eligibility requirements.
• Contact physician offices to obtain demographic and related information.
• Enter referrals and document communications in the system.
• Handle calls, texts, facsimiles, and electronic queues while taking notes and speaking with customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
