Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks a Referral Coordinator to support clinical teams, patients and families by managing referrals and authorizations in the EHR for the outpatient ambulatory setting.

The role includes processing internal and external referrals, providing centralized insurance authorization support for visits and high-tech imaging services across all practices. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm at the Sarasota campus.

Qualifications

1 year of healthcare experience is required.
Strong communication with physician offices and interdepartmentally is preferred.
Knowledge of medical insurance terminology is preferred.
Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding is preferred.
Experience with patient registration or billing is preferred.
Ability to analyze problems and work in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supports clinical teams, patients and families by managing referrals and/or authorizations for the medical group.
Processes internal and external referrals and authorizations from orders in the EHR within the Outpatient Ambulatory setting.
Provides centralized insurance authorization support for patient visits and high-tech imaging services across all practices.
