Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, TX seeks an Eligibility Coordinator to manage and process referrals, verify information, and ensure eligibility for our programs.

You will coordinate with families, hospitals, physicians, and internal teams, maintain accurate records, protect confident ial information under HIPAA, and support timely service delivery while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and written documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient with word processing, Excel, and agency databases.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming referrals accurately into the agency system.
• Maintain and file records per procedures.
• Serve as primary contact for referral sources, clients, and internal teams.
• Verify information and gather supporting documents.
• Ensure HIPAA and privacy standards compliance.
• Provide timely follow-up and communicate outcomes.
• Adhere to state regulations and program guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
