Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator to serve as the main link between patients and their healthcare team. You will handle all aspects of the referral process, including authorizations and follow-up, while delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Role involves educating patients and staff on referral details, scheduling and coordinating appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals, prior authorization, or other medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and obtain authorization for specific plans.
• Educate patients and staff with referral and insurance information.
• Obtain urgent authorizations same day or next day.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions, route calls to appropriate staff, and relay messages to clinical team.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Test tracks the referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
