Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Referral Coordinator in the Hampton, VA area. The role links patients, primary care providers, specialists and insurers, coordinating referrals and pre-authorization for drugs and services per provider orders.

Preferred candidates have medical terminology knowledge, EPIC experience, and at least 1 year in insurance verification/referral processing. Excellent computer and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent ( required )

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referral process from primary care providers and obtain pre-authorization approvals as ordered by provider.
• Serve as a link between patients, primary care providers, specialty providers and insurance companies.
• Utilize medical terminology and maintain organized records for referrals and authorizations.
