Job summary

Sentara Health in Hampton, VA is seeking a Referral Coordinator to connect patients, primary care providers, specialists and insurers. You will manage referrals and pre-authorization processes, ensuring timely and accurate approvals for services as ordered by the physician.

Strong medical terminology, familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payers, and EPIC experience are preferred. This role requires attention to detail and solid organizational skills in a dayshift, 8:00AM–4:30PM

Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payers preferred.
• One year of insurance verification/referral processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referral process from primary care providers to specialists and insurance payers.
• Handle pre-authorization for drugs and other services as ordered by providers.
