Job summary

One Community Health seeks a Referral Coordinator to provide administrative support for our medical, dental, and behavioral health teams. You will coordinate referrals, communicate with patients and outside partners, verify insurance, and gather required information to ensure timely appointments.

The role is full-time and based at our clinic in The Dalles, Oregon or White Salmon, Washington, with a bilingual differential of $0.75 per hour for English/Spanish proficiency.

Qualifications

• Two years of clerical, reception, administrative, or secretarial experience in a medical/dental setting; or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy laws; strong written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Customer service and workplace safety knowledge
• Ability to work in a dynamic, changing community healthcare environment
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
• Ability to meet team and organizational goals with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process referrals between patients, clinics, and outside partners via fax, phone, and computer
• Communicate with patients to obtain required information and schedule appointments
• Verify insurance coverage and gather information needed for referrals
• Track referrals and update systems; follow up as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced clinic environment
