Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. is seeking a Referral Clerk in the Referral Center to process specialty referral orders, obtain insurance authorization, attach clinical documents, and submit to specialty offices.

You will inform patients of referral details and maintain documentation in the electronic health record. Under supervision of the Director of UM and Referrals, you will handle high volumes, adhere to HIPAA, and ensure timely referrals with professional patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or CMA/RMA, or other medical experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and documents for completeness and appropriateness.
• Contact patients to confirm referrals and appointment details.
• Obtain insurance authorization and upload to patient records.
• Collaborate with specialty offices and document actions in EHR.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional customer service.
