Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator to act as a key link between patients and their healthcare team. You will handle the referral process, including authorizations, follow-up, and patient outreach to ensure timely care.

Responsibilities include coordinating authorizations, educating patients and staff, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records. This role supports the continuum of care for patients navigating referrals within Trinity Health IHA

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma.
• Credentials/licensure: None.
• Minimum experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience with insurance referrals, prior authorization or other relevant medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and obtains authorization for specific plans.
• Educate patients and staff with pertinent referral and insurance information.
• Obtains urgent authorizations same day and next day.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions, route calls appropriately, and relay messages to clinical staff.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Test tracks the referrals until fulfilled by the patient.
