Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking a Referral Specialist to be the positive first contact for Commonwealth Eye Care Associates and EyeCare Partners, projecting a professional telephone image and safeguarding patient privacy. You will schedule appointments, manage referrals, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate data entry.

The role requires 1–3 years of medical office experience, excellent customer service, and proficiency with Windows/Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 1–3 years of medical office experience.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• A combination of experience in Windows OS, Microsoft Office, e-mail, and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in scheduling appointments based on needs and physician schedules.
• Handle incoming/outgoing local referral networks and paper/faxed referrals.
• Back up to the Contact Center; screen and process calls per protocol.
• Maintain patient demographics and Patient Portal for EMR.
• Respond to Live Chat and Cataract Self-Test inquiries; email communication.
• Collaborate with Patient Relations and referring providers for smooth referrals.
• Support department reporting and special projects as assigned.
