Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking a Referral Specialist to be the first point of contact for Commonwealth Eye Care Associates and EyeCare Partners. You will manage referrals, schedule appointments, and ensure accurate patient information flows through EMR systems while maintaining confidentiality.

The role requires 1–3 years in medical offices, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments to keep patient flow smooth and compliant with policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required with 1–3 years of medical office experience.
• Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, e-mail, and data entry is preferred.
• Ability to understand payer referral requirements and communicate them clearly to referring providers.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments based on patient needs and physician schedules.
• Coordinate local referral networks and manage paper/faxed referrals.
• Answer and screen calls, route to appropriate departments per protocol.
• Maintain patient demographics and EMR Portal data.
• Respond to live chat and email inquiries.
• Collaborate with Patient Relations and provider liaisons to optimize referral flow.
• Assist in referral department reporting and special projects.
