Job summary

Cano Health LLC in Alaska is seeking a Referral Coordinator to support the clinical unit with clerical tasks, schedule consultations, diagnostic testing and surgical procedures, and input referrals and authorizations into the data system. You will coordinate follow-up care with referral physicians and ensure records are properly routed.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, proficient with Microsoft Office and ECW, experienced with insurance portals and Medicaid/Medicare

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a physician's office, clinic or hospital processing referrals.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience scheduling healthcare appointments.
• Experience with office equipment, including computers, calculators, fax machines and copiers.

Responsibilities

• Input and enter referrals and authorizations into the data system.
• Coordinate and schedule referrals per policy.
• Ensure medical records are forwarded to referral provider.
• Act as a resource for staff and patients regarding referral policies and procedures.
• Provide internal and external referral coordination.
• Input authorization information including diagnostic and procedure codes.
• Obtain necessary authorizations.
• Refer requests for emergencies to appropriate staff.
• Assist with insurance benefits questions and patient communications.
• Coordinate tests and outside referrals as needed.
